Call for Volunteers

Call for Volunteers

The Cockburn Sound Regatta has been a major West Australian Regatta for over 67 years, attracting Yachts and Sailors from up and down the Coast of Western Australia and beyond, but none of this would be possible without the support of volunteers.

Would you like to be part of something really special between Christmas and New Year's Eve?

Volunteering for The Cockburn Sound Regatta is an easy, fun and rewarding way to join others in being a part of keeping this important sporting tradition alive.

The Regatta is gaining strength each year as a ‘must do’ event.

There are plenty of roles to get involved with, both on and off water with continuous entertainment in an enviable location.

Members, get involved, support your club and bring your family and friends in too.
It is well known that the benefit always exceeds the effort.

Join us as a volunteer for the 68th Cockburn Sound Regatta this year.

Volunteer Areas:

Volunteer Areas:

On Land Assistance:

Race Tower

Helping out in the tower with race finish and radio operator teams. There are positions for qualified and non qualified volunteers.
There will always be qualified people in the tower with you, so this is a great opportunity to learn from and assist them in their duties.

Bar and Galley

Bar duties involve either supporting the bar staff with clean up duties or serving drinks.
Please note a responsible serving of alcohol certificate is legally required to serve alcohol. You can easily obtain this online. If you need assistance with this contact the Club Manager at the TCYC Office 08 9527 5468.
Galley duties involves assisting the Galley staff with clearing tables, serving food, food preparation and cleaning.
Helping us sell raffle tickets is another great way to have fun and meet everyone at the Regatta.

Assisting on Water:

Race Support Vessels

Skippers are required for a variety of duties such as mark laying boats and safety boats etc.
Please note that to skipper a boat a Recreational Skippers Ticket is required.

Crew are also required for the above on water activities. Training will be provided. A great way to get some sea time, enjoy yourself and give something back to the CSR.

Taxi Vessels

Taxi Boat Skippers will be required for three shifts, AM breakfast, Noon lunch and PM dinner.
Regular CSR attendees will know how busy the taxi pontoon can get pre and post racing. We will require assistants for the Pontoon.

Equipment Staff

Refuelling, care and minor maintenance of power boats and ensuring each boat is equipped with an esky with ice and bottled water will also require volunteers.

Volunteers also needed for Equipment maintenance i.e. marks and ground tackle.
